Hey Stefan here,
If you’re looking to finally start mixing your own high quality beats, loops and tracks, then I’m glad you found this website and I strongly suggest you keep reading, because my goal is to help you make the best choice possible for your rap, R&B, house and dubstep software.
So what do all of these genres have in common? They all rely on music software probably more than any other genre. As a result, artists and DJ’s have to choose the right program for meet their needs. This can be really confusing for a beginner who just wants to know “how to make dubstep” or what music software will actually allow them to make beats and tracks that actually sell. But how do you decide on which programs and equipment to choose from? You could drop a fortune on audio gear and DJ mixing software, just to find out you bought something that takes years to become pro with.
If you’re an up and coming DJ or producer, you NEED to have the right software. But how are you supposed to choose from all the options available? Try going to Google and searching for “music software”, and see how many results you get. It would be almost impossible to go through all the possibilities one by one and actually read up on them. I can tell you from personal experience that a lot of music software is either expensive, complicated to use, or doesn’t deliver what it should. That’s why I was so surprised when I finally found a solution that was not only extremely affordable, but also easy to use and capable of delivering everything you could need as a DJ or producer, whether you’re just starting or been in the game a while.
I’ve messed around with programs like Cubase (which for a rookie is just WAY too complicated), I used Fruityloops for a while and it was okay, although it doesn’t have external audio recording and isn’t really built specifically for rap, house or dubstep music (you would need to pay extra for certain plugins, instruments, samples, loops – really adds up $$$$). I have never used Reason, but I know it can cost upwards of $500. Until recently, these were the kind of choices you had to pick from. That all changed however, when DUBTurbo was released.

What makes DUBTurbo stand out from other rap, R&B, house, and dubstep software?
DUBTurbo puts together all of the features that rap, R&B, house, trance and dubstep artists would need into a single, easy to use piece of music software. DUBTurbo also puts more emphasis on things such as having a large collection of drum kits, loops and beat samples, because the program itself was built around genres that can really take advantage of them. All of the sounds are recorded using industry standard 44.1hz Wav files, so you can be sure that your dubstep software isn’t going to hold you back from selling and distributing your work.
Another stand out quality of DUBTurbo is how easy and intuitive it is, even for people new to music software. The user interface and features were designed to be understandable for anyone who uses it, and they even have guided video tutorials to take you through step by step to make dubstep, rap, house or to make beats for any genre you’re into. I’ll get into this more later on. Lets get into some of the other qualities about DUBTurbo, both the bad and the good…
What are the bad things about DUBTurbo?
One of the disadvantages I thought DUBTurbo had (depending on your style) is that the multi-track sequencer only has 16 tracks where some other programs have unlimited. For some Trance and World-Beat genres you might need more than 16 tracks, which means you might find the sequencer in DUBTurbo a bit limiting, but for rap, house and dubstep artists you should be good to go.
The other thing I’ve heard about (though I can’t say personally) is that some people say they occasionally get stutter in the playback, and that it’s linked to the computer memory (RAM). If you have an older computer you might need to optimize the settings for audio playback, OR just get another stick of RAM. Looking at the big picture, RAM is dirt cheap compared to top-end music software.
What are the good things about DUBTurbo?
When it comes to balancing affordability and performance in an easy to use package, nothing else comes close to DUBTurbo. Don’t get me wrong, programs like Cubase, FL Studio and Reason are capable of A LOT, but they’re meant for people who really know what they’re doing, PLUS you’ll need some serious recording equipment in order to get the most out of high end products like these. But hey, if you have the money and a few years to get over the learning curve then maybe these products are for you.
However, for most people that want to break into this new and exciting hobby, it’s just not practical to spend that kind of time and money. This is exactly why DUBTurbo stands out from the competition, it gives you most of the functions of a high end beat maker, but is designed so a complete beginner can pick it up and start running with it! Seriously, being easy to use is one of the best things about DUBTurbo, it has an intuitive design loaded with shortcuts, the ability to play notes on your computer keyboard, a massive library of instrument samples and drum kits, and guided tutorials to take you through the program functions and help you get started fast. You can even do external recording to come up with your own sounds to add to the already huge collection of samples. Don’t get me wrong, there’s other dubstep software out there that offers many of the same features, but I haven’t seen one anywhere near the price DUBTurbo offers. Easily one of the best bangs for your buck you can find in music software today.
Also, DUBTurbo has a reliable customer support service (support@dubturbo.com), who typically email you within 72 hours, and a 60 day money back guarantee.
Overall, what do I think?
DUBTurbo is a great program no matter how you look at it, but at its price, it just stands apart from every other piece of music software. Seriously, when you factor in the cost of DUBTurbo, there isn’t much else that compares to it. It doesn’t hype itself up by promising something that it doesn’t deliver. The sound bank that comes with it is packed with thousands of loops, beats, instruments and effects, and most importantly they’re all high quality 44.1hz Wav files, so the only thing affecting your ability to sell your beats is the work you put in. Your software isn’t going to limit you here. It has all the features an up and comer could need, and can definitely help your music career a boost. If I had to rate DUBTurbo out of 5, I would give it a solid 4, the only thing holding it back is the fact that the sequencer has 16 tracks (instead of unlimited) and that you may occasionally get stutter in the playback (apparently). Hope my review helped,
Stefan,
